Director's Message Fall 2001Dear Visitor, 2001 has been a very eventful year. The biggest event involved moving our scientific headquarters from their temporary location in California to a permanent site in Colorado. That move took most of February through April, and we are still setting up parts of our offices!

Our major concern has been to get a dedicated server so we can make more timely updates to this site. So far the prospects look good. We have updated or added several new sections--mainly mammals and fishes--and added photos to almost all our sections. Also, the first two magazine articles resulting from our biodiversity studies in Australia have been published: "Reptiles of Fitzroy Island, Australia" in Reptilia, The European Herp Magazine, number 15, and "Lizards in Paradise" in Reptiles Magazine, September 2001 issue. More are to follow. Visitors from around the world have been sending suggestions, corrections, and review materials, many of which have been added to this latest update. Please bear with us as we continue our early--and often painful--growing stage. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy our site! Sincerely yours, Robert G.
