Dr. Gunther Köhler has produced yet
another fine book of high quality, this time a field guide to the fauna of
a well-studied area in Central America. This first volume ("Band
1") deals with crocodilians, turtles, and lizards, and includes a
chapter on the geography of Central America.
The author is Curator of Herpetology at the
Senckenberg Museum and an authority on the reptiles of Central America,
particularly the iguanine lizards. The photos are excellent, and there is
a glossary, bibliography and a checklist of scientific, English and
Spanish names. The text is in German. |
