Lanthanotus
borneensis Steindachner, 1878.
It grows to a length of about 45 cm (18 inches),
and lives as a burrower near streams and ponds. Any news of such a species would qualify
as news for this site. Photo by RobertSprackland.
Zoologica Novais an on-line journal of zoological news, with an emphasis on
whole-organism biology (sorry, no molecular papers). This is the place to
present hypotheses, or stand-alone portions of larger, current research
projects. Material will cover all phyla from cnidarians through vertebrates,
living and fossil. We encourage submission of color illustrations and short
video clips. Descriptions of new taxa must conform to the International
Commission for Zoological Nomenclature Code (4th Edition, effective 1
January 2000). To comply with Code requirements, Zoologica
Nova issues will be CD-ROM burned and distributed to several
museums and subscribers 48 hours prior to on-line publication. Museums receiving
gratis library copies will be listed with the release of the first
issue. Subscribers may order CD-ROM versions by contacting Teri_Sprackland@excite.com.
The on-line journal is free to all.
