Lion Fish Harlequin Lionfish

The fishes in this group, mainly marine, are
named after the venomous land scorpions. Many of the fins are hollow,
venom-conducting shafts that can inject a potential predator and inject it
with powerful toxins. For humans the strength of the venoms may range from
causing mild discomfort to agonizing pain to death. The various species
are known as stonefish, lion fish, zebra fish, turkey cod, and scorpion
fish. The stonefish produce the most dangerous toxins of the group, and
have caused numerous human fatalities. There are no antivenins for these
species.
