Lateral fold lizards         
Shown above is one of the largest lizards of the family Anguidae, Diploglossus occiduus of Jamaica. This species has been extinct at least since the early 20th century. This specimen is one of perhaps six preserved examples in museums. Photo taken by R. G. Sprackland at the National Museums of Scotland, Edinburgh.
