Microteiids

Gymnophthalmid lizards are also known as microteiids, having long been included in the family Teiidae. Most are under 20 cm (9 inches) in length, have large scales, small or no limbs, and very secretive lifestyles. The teeth have solid bases. Osteoderms absent or few in number.
