Central and South America, in arid rocky habitats.

Diagnosis:

Description:
Grows to 6 ft/1.9 m.
|
|
Natural History:
The venom contains both hemotoxic and
neurotoxic components, making this species potentially more dangerous than
most rattlers found in the United States. They are crepuscular, and feed
on rodents and small birds.
