Darwin's Ghost

University College London is a masterful presentation of Darwin's original
evolutionary work, but brought up to date. Jones wrote it with the image
of Darwin watching over his shoulder and annotating The Origin to
conform with all we've learned about "descent with modification"
in the intervening 140 years. Jones, however, is not quite true to the
original--the book is streamlined and far more readable than the weighty
original tome.
A must read for any science teacher
who is still baffled by the intricacies of this elegant and most important
of scientific theories.
